A STUDYIN FORM.
Makayla works between Los Angeles and New York across editorial, campaign and beauty.
Her work is built on stillness — a preference for the frame that holds rather than the one that performs. She came to modelling from dance, and it shows in how she uses a room: deliberate, economical, aware of where the light actually is.
She shoots film personally, reads the brief before the call sheet, and has a reputation among photographers for arriving with three ideas and no ego about any of them.

What clients say
“Makayla arrives knowing the brief better than most of the crew. She gives you three usable variations before you have finished asking for one, and she does it at hour eleven as readily as hour one.”
Elena Marchetti
Photographer · Ashen Magazine
“We booked her for a single day and extended to three. She understands garments — how they move, where they need to sit — which is far rarer than it should be.”
Rue Kavanagh
Creative Director · Marisol Atelier
“Beauty work is unforgiving and most people tense up on a macro lens. She holds a position for as long as you need without the expression going dead. Genuinely a pleasure.”

What a Casting Director Actually Sees
Six seconds, one hallway, and a room that has already looked at ninety people today. What actually registers — and what never does.

Building a Portfolio That Argues for You
Most portfolios are an archive. The good ones are an argument. On editing ruthlessly, and why your favourite image is usually the problem.
